Mrs. C.R. Boyd, 69, a resident of Greenville for more than fifty years died at 6 o’clock this morning. She had been ill at her home, 1724 Sayle Street for the past eighteen months.

Funeral arrangements are pending. The body will rest at the Gray-Sorrells Funeral Home.

Born on March 11, 1884 in the Donelton Community, near Lone Oak, Mrs. Boyd, the former Minnie Ellen Denton, was the daughter of Wm. T. Denton and Mary Ann Milburne Denton. She moved to Greenville soon after her marriage to Charles R. Boyd and had since made her home here.

She was a member of Wesley Methodist Church and was active in the church programs as long as her health permitted.

Surviving are her husband, C.R. Boyd, one daughter, Mrs. L.E. Birdsong of South America; two grandchildren, L.E. Birdsong, III, and Robert Charles Birdsong, both attending school in San Marcos; four brothers, Calvin Denton and Orville Denton of the Donelton Community; John Denton and Earnest Denton of Lone Oak; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie McCook of Sherman and Mrs. Harrison Maddox of Greenville, and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Final rites will be observed at 3 o’clock this afternoon for Mrs. C.R. Boyd, 69, prominent Greenville woman who died Friday morning at her home, 1724 Sayle street after an illness of eighteen months. The services will be held at Wesley Methodist church, with the pastor, the Rev. John W. Morphis and the Rev. James L. Sandlin, pastor of the Central Christian church, officiating, followed by burial in Forest Park cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Fred Thomas, T.W. Mayo, Lee Miles, Gregory Johnson, J.P. Crabb and LeRoy Brigman.
