Stanton - Paul Moreno Banagas, 91, peacefully passed away at his home on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 from cancer. Born July 16, 1923 in Artesia, CA, Paul was the son of Solomon Banagas and Juana Moreno.
Paul is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruth; their three children, Paul Banagas Jr., Dan Banagas and Lydia Carmona; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
A lifelong resident of Orange County, CA, Paul served his country faithfully in the Army during WWII in the Aleutian Islands. After his military service, he married his sweetheart, Ruth de la Cruz. They lived in Westminster for five years then settled in Stanton.
Paul was a master plasterer for over 35 years and was actively engaged in the activities of his children, grandchildren and the community. He was a member of the United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, at 10 am at the United Methodist Church, 12741 Main St., Garden Grove. Following the services, Paul will be laid to rest at Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster. (Published in the Orange County Register 3/7/15)
