July 26, 2017 note from Cherokee Rose, "On familysearch.org there is a marriage record, with photo, of John Milton Key to Mary Griffin on December 16, 1838, in Meriwether Co., GA. This Mary died in 1863. Mary Griffin's parents are John Griffin, Sr. and Penelope Daniel.
"Mary Etta Mason York didn't become a widow (of William Thomas "Tom" York) until August 1864. In looking at the 1870 census, John M. has no wife but 5 kids. So it would appear that he did not marry Mary Etta until after the 1870 census. Don't know where Mary Griffin is buried but Mary Etta's buried with John M. in Douglasville City Cemetery as well as two "York" daughters."
