Leah Ann Paxton Black was born June 14, 1918 in Kanosh, UT., to Winford and Jean Paxton. In 1941, after seven years of courtship, she married her sweetheart Lee Charles Black who lives in Colorado Springs. She is survived by her husband, three daughters: Suzanne Black (Traxler), Teresa Black (Brown), and Nanette Black (Snoy); nine granddaughters, nine great grandsons and five great granddaughters; and two sisters, Merlene Callister and Berniece Godfrey. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Beth Hansen. She was an ideal wife and mother. Leah accompanied her husband during his 29 years of military service. The last 12 years were at the Air Force Academy. Leah taught business courses for 19 years at Air Academy H.S. where she was loved and respected as a great teacher. She graduated from Millard High School. Then she went to the University of Utah and received her Bachelor's degree in Business Education and her Master's Degree from Colorado College in 1978. She loved gardening, reading and being with her family. Leah was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, Friday, April 21, 2006, at the Swan-Law Funeral Directors and from 9:00 to 10:00 am, Saturday, April 22, 2006 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Research at Lexington, Colorado Springs, CO 80918. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 22, 2006, at the church. Burial will be at the USAF Academy Cemetery.
