W. Emmett Maloney of Denton, MD, died Friday, January 3, 2014, at the Caroline Nursing Home in Denton. He was 75 years old. Born near Denton on , Mr. Maloney was the son of the late Edward Paul Maloney and Hilda Elizabeth Lord Maloney. He had lived in Williston near Denton all of his life. Mr. Maloney was a 1956 graduate of Caroline High School in Denton. He had work for the Caroline County Roads Department for 19 years before retiring in 1976. He was an avid gardener and he had a roadside market in Williston for many years. He also worked hand-in-hand with his father as the “Caretakers of Williston”. Mr. Maloney is survived by two sisters: Shirley Trice of Denton and R. Ann Blazejak of Denton; and one brother, Rev. Charles Maloney of Cologne, VA.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Alice Jane Maloney, and a brother, Leon “Sonny” Maloney. Funeral services will be 2 PM on Friday, January 10th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second Street in Denton where friends may call from 1 until 2 before the service. If friends wish to send memorial donations, the family suggests sending them to the American Diabetes Association, 800 Wyman Park Drive, Suite 110, Baltimore, MD 21211.

Friends may call from 1 until 2 before the service at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 2 PM on Friday, January 10th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second Street in Denton, MD.

The interment will be in the Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.
