KULPMONT — Michael J. Zanuck, 72, of 1050 Chestnut St., died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at home after a three-year illness.

Born in the Bronx, N.Y., June 2, 1940, he was a son of the late Michael and Mary (Hecker) Zanuck. He was a resident of Kulpmont for the past 15 years, having previously resided in West Paterson, N.J.

He was employed as an offset printer with G.S. Imaging in New Jersey.

On Nov. 5, 1990, in Ellicott City, Md., he married the former Elaine (Scanzoni) Kopitskie, who survives.

He was educated in the Bronx, and was a member of the National American Legion and the Loyal Order of Moose, Shamokin.

He proudly served with the U.S. Marines Corps from June 10, 1957, until he was honorably discharged July 15, 1963.

His greatest passion was working on his 1929 Model A Ford pick-up truck. His other passion was cooking; whether it was his meatballs or his variety of Chinese dishes, he enjoyed cooking for everyone.

His greatest loss was the passing of his grandson, Matthew Lentz; his greatest joy today was his great-grandson, Vincent Addaman II.

In addition to his wife, Elaine (Scanzoni) Kopitskie-Zanuck, he is survived by a daughter, Laura Lentz and her husband, Tim, of Taghkanic, N.Y.; two grandsons, Michael and Daniel Lentz, also of Taghkanic; a bonus son, CWO4 Richard Kopitskie and his wife, AnHui, of Seoul, Korea; grandchildren, Brandon Kopitskie, of Horn Lake, Miss., Amber Addaman and her husband, Vincent, and their son, Vincent, of Mount Carmel, Alexis and Aaron Kopitskie, of Longmont, Colo., and Hana and Kevin Kopitskie, of Seoul; a sister, Diane Padula and her husband, Mark, of Kulpmont, and a brother, Paul Zanuck and his wife, Barbara, of Marion Heights.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary O'Connor; a niece, Patricia O'Connor, and a grandson, Matthew Lentz.
