Isabelle was a very loving person who enjoyed helping her family and serving at her church, Green Bethel Baptist Church. Before her health failed, Isabelle took care of her son during the time of his illness. She went out of her way to help others whenever her service was needed such as serving on the usher board at her church. Isabelle loved gardening, growing potted plants, and spending time with her family. She was employed with Doran Textile Mills until her retirement.
Her parents Cleo and Dellar Young Roberts, husband Andrew Lincoln Carpenter, and son Robert Eugene "Gene" Carpenter, preceded Isabelle in death. In addition to her parents, husband, and son, she was preceded in death by her brother, Marlyn Eugene Roberts and her sister Stella Roberts Logan.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister Mary Elizabeth Roberts and brother, Stanley Edwin Roberts of Gaffney, SC; sisters-in-law Amanda Carpenter Mills, Columbus, Ohio, Inita Carpenter, Shelby, NC, and Rosetta Carpenter Wilson, Nashville, Tennessee; nieces Zita Roberts of Durham, NC, Sharon Boyce and Norma Boyce McCullough of Hickory, NC, Kimberly Boyce of Shelby, NC, Ruth Jones of Forest City, NC and Natasha Wilson of Shanghai, China; nephews Jason Mills, Matthew Mills, Simon Mills of Columbus, Ohio, Landrum Carpenter of Gastonia, NC, Danny Carpenter of Forest City, NC, Gary McIntosh of Greensboro, NC, Terrace Carpenter of Shelby, NC, Barry Roberts of Gaffney, NC, and Ridge Leoni of Washington, DC. In addition, her devoted friends on the usher board, a host of other relatives and friends will miss Isabelle.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2015, at Green Bethel Baptist Church, with Pastor Wade Wallace officiating.
Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
