Daughter of Thomas Berkshire. Belle married David Newton Bayles, a son of William N. and Grace T. Bayles, on July 15, 1917 at her home in Morgantown. C.B. Meredeth, minister of the M.E. Church, performed the marriage ceremony. The marriage ended in divorce. Belle became a patient at Weston State Hospital. At the time of her death, she was 44 years old. She suffered from epilepsy for approximately ten years before her death.

Upon her death, Belle was buried in the hospital cemetery. It is not known whether she has a headstone or any other type of grave marker.
