Paul W. "Roger" Hines, 62, Route 5, Brazil, died at 1:15 Thursday afternoon at the St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Hines was born September 16, 1911 in Clay Vity, the son of William Hines and Rilla (White) Hines. He was a retired Standard Service Station operator and owner in Brazil later employed by the Pinkerton Detective Agency in Terre Haute. He was a graduate of Clay City High School in 1930. He was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Brazil. He had been a resident of the Brazil community the past thirty one years.

Surviving are the wife, Lucile (Miller) Hines to whom he was married on June 30, 1932; two sons, Don G. Hines, Brazil; Terry G. Hines, Frankfort; two sisters, Mrs. Ernestine Brown, Clay City; Mrs. Maxine Skinner, Gary; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lester, Clay City.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 Sunday afternoon from the Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City. The Rev. Paul Burke, pastor of the Bethel United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Clay City. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3:00 Saturday afternoon."
