MIDDLETOWN, RI--Amy Tasker Anderson, 87, of Bayview Park, Middletown, formerly of Squantum Drive, Middletown, RI, died on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Newport Hospital.

She was the wife of the late George Edward Anderson.

Born in Newport, RI, on March 29, 1926, the daughter of the late Everett John Tasker and Amy Card Tasker.

Mrs. Anderson worked as a bookkeeper at the Newport Naval Base and was also a nursing assistant at the Grand Islander. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and also a member of NARFE, the Quahog Chapter of the North American Campers Association, the National Camping Travelers and the Good Sam Camping Club. Amy was a Brownie Troop Leader and also a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.

She was also preceded in death by siblings, Anna Hall of Middletown and Everett John Tasker Jr. of Miami, FL; and brother-in-law, Bill Sheehan.

She is survived by her children, Arlan E. Anderson of Palm Spring, CA, George E. (Jayne) Anderson Jr. of Barrington, RI, John F. Anderson of Middletown, RI and Judy A. (Mrs. Michael) Pike of Portsmouth, RI; her sister, Marion Sheehan of Jamestown, RI; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Ashley and Alexandra Anderson, Richard (Christina) Marley Jr., Lyn (Mrs. Carl) Muckerheide, Christine Pike and Natalie Pike; and three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Connor and Adam Marley.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 5-8:00 p.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home, Newport.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown, RI.

Amy Pompeo Wed to G.E. Anderson

Mrs. Amy A. Pompeo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett J. Tasker of 111 Wellington Avenue was married last night in the First Presbyterian Church to George E. Anderson of Quaker Hill Trailer Park, Portsmouth, son of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Anderson of 28 Vernon Avenue, Newport. The Rev. William J. Clark, pastor, officiated.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a pink chiffon street length dress with matching crown and shoulder length veil, and a corsage bouquet of white carnations. She was attended by her sister, Mrs. Robert W. Hall, matron of honor, attired in a street length dress of blue brocade with matching hat. Everett J. Tasker Jr., the bride's brother, was the best man.

A reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hall on Rhode Island Avenue. After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple will live a 111 Wellington Avenue.

The bride, a graduate of Rogers High School, has been a bookkeeper at the Naval Base. Mr. Anderson, a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, served as a Lieutenant in the Army, and is a mechanical engineer at the Naval Base.
