LITTLE ELM — Charles "Charlie" Abbott, 77, of Little Elm died Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

Services will be at 2 a.m. Tuesday in Holley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marc Farnell, pastor of Little Elm Crossridge Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Reception will follow the burial at 8112 Victory Drive in Amarillo. Arrangements are by Holley Funeral Home in Canyon.

Charles was born March 16, 1937, in Roanoke, Va., to James L. and Cora Stroupe Abbott. He was immersed in the Christian community that would be his lifelong support. He was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Amarillo and Crossridge Church in Little Elm. He proudly served in the Air Force and retired from the city of Amarillo in 1995. He was blessed with a large and loving family. He married Kay Hollinger on March 30, 1968, in Amarillo. They reared two children with patience and taught them about the Lord's grace. From the very beginning, he dedicated his children to God and encouraged them to explore the beauty of the gospels. He was kind, soft-spoken and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.

Survivors include his wife, Kay of the home; a son, Jeff Abbott and wife Sharla; a daughter, Kayla and husband Kelly; four brothers; five sisters; and 11 grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
