Obit: ZANESVILLE: Artie W. Van Allen, 92, of Zanesville, Ohio (Muskingum County) died at 2:43 A.M. on Friday, September 20, 2013, at the Genesis Good Samaritan Emergency Room. She was born August 17, 1921, in Lowell, OHIO, (Washington County) a daughter of the late Harley and Ada Stalnaker Gainer. She was a member of the Woodlawn Avenue Church of Christ, Zanesville, Ohio. Surviving are two sons, a sister of California; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and two great great granddaughters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Van Allen, who died March 12, 1971; two brothers, Sam and Roger Gainer; and a great great granddaughter. No calling hours will be observed and a graveside service will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, September 23, 2013, at Williams Cemetery, Falls Township, Muskingum County, Ohio with Rev. Charles Norris officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio.
