RESIDENT

OROFINO A graveside inurnment service for Volney (Buck) Williams, 67, of Orofino, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Northfork Cemetery at Ahsahka, west of Orofino.

Williams died Friday at Clearwater Valley Hospital at Orofino of pneumonia. He had been in ill health for some 15 years.

He was born Sept. 20, 1926, at Winlock, Ore., to James Everett and Edith May Wilson Williams. He grew up in that area and went to school at Fossil, Ore., and Service Creek, Ore.

He then worked in various lumber mills until joining the U.S. Army in 1946. He was injured while in the military and spent three months in Tokyo General Hospital before being discharged in 1948 and returning to the United States.

He married Esther Miller Aug. 15, 1968, at Orofino and they continued to live there. She died July 5, 1992.
Williams enjoyed camping, fishing and doing mechanical work on cars.

Survivors include four sons; five daughters; two sisters; a brother; 19 grandchildren; and 32 great­grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. Pine Hills Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
