Mrs. Carbon was born April 8, 1897 in Czechslovakia, daughter of the late Henry and Anna Menchl. She came to the United States as a young girl with her parents, settling in the Melnik area. She married Edward Carbon on June 15, 1921 at Manitowoc. He preceded her in death March 13, 1971. Mrs. Carbon was a 50 year member of First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc and the Royal Neighbors.
Survivors include a son and a daughter-in-law, Edward H. and Mary Carbon of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lou and Jack Harty of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Virginia C. and John A. Brandt of Two Rivers; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Menchl and two sisters, Anna Budweiser and Mary Beers.
Friends may call at Reinbold Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei 9th Street Chapel, from 4 pm to 6 pm this Sunday and Monday at Phipps Memorial Chapel at First Presbyterian Church from 10 am until the hour of service. Memorials would be appreciated to First Presbyterian Church.
