Virginia B. Pickett, 81, lifetime Shelbyville resident, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove.

Born July 25, 1919, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Scott R. and Lura T. (McDaniel) Hendricks. She married Donald E. Pickett on Oct. 19, 1935, and he survives.

Other survivors include one son, Donald R. Pickett of Flat Rock; one daughter, Mrs. Stanley (Shirley) Kuntz of Waldron; one brother, Raymond K. Hendricks of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Pickett was a homemaker.

She was a member of Lewis Creek Baptist Church in Shelby County and Norristown Eastern Star.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with the Rev. Cliff Bunch officiating.

Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery in Shelby County.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
