Mrs. Billie Nell Anderson, 88, of Temple, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015, at her home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2015, at Harper Talasek Funeral Home, Temple. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015, in Live Oak Cemetery.

Nell was born in Broaddus, Texas, to the late William and Ida Mabel Roberts. In 1943, at the age of 16, she married John Anderson. They started their family in 1945 and were married for 70 years. She enjoyed her family and always had an “ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on”. Even though she loved her family, she would say the most important event in her life was her decision to follow Jesus Christ. She was an active member of many churches throughout her life, opening her home for Christian teaching and fellowship. The last church she attended was Bethel Assembly in Temple, Texas. She filled her last years with reading.

Nell was preceded in death by her husband, John.

Survivors include her son, John A. Anderson and his wife, Patricia; daughters, Sheri E. Wright and her husband, Ben, and Carol A. Joersz and her husband, Al; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
