Daniel Paul "Termite" Lawson Sr., 65, of Seaford Road, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Dan was born in Davidson County on Dec. 11, 1938, to William Henry Clay Lawson Sr. and Nellie Louise Gray Lawson. He was retired from the N.C. Department of Transportation. In addition to his parents, two sisters, June Leonard and Ann Smith, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Mary McCollum Lawson; four sons, William Burgess and his wife, Becky, of Advance, Wayne Burgess and his wife, Alice, of Westfield, and Gary Burgess and his wife, Teresa, and Danny Lawson and his wife, Jean, all of Advance; two daughters, Diane Rice and her husband, Luke, of Winston-Salem and Janet Caudle and her husband, Jeff, of Lexington; two brothers, Clay Lawson and his wife, Sally, of Lexington and Kirk Lawson of Advance; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
