DALLAS COUNTY NEWS, Jul. 13, 1977 -- Maggie Jane Armagost was born December 30, 1882 to Elias Grant and Catherine Badger Armagost. On October 1, 1903, she was united in marriage to Clarence (Cary) E. Simpson. To them were born three daughters: Olive, now Mrs. Russell Wilcox of Adel; Gladys, now Mrs. Harold Nissly of Des Moines, and Mabyl Orlena who passed away in infancy. An adopted son, Howard Ivan died at the age of 18 months. Also preceding her in death was her husband in 1946.
She took up residence at the Lutheran Home in Perry in 1968, where she passed away Thursday morning, July 7, at the age of 94 years 6 months and 8 days.
Leaving to mourn her are her two daughters and their husbands, eight grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
FUNERAL SERVICES for Maggie Simpson, 94, mother of Olive Wilcox of Adel and Gladys Nissly of Des Moines, were held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock at the Dallas Center Church of the Brethren with REvc. Sam McCaman officiating. Interment was in the Panther Creek Church of the Brethren cemetery.
Mrs. Simpson passed away Thursday morning, July 7, at the Lutheran Home in Perry where she had resided for the past 8 1/2 years. Brandt Service of Dallas Center was in charge.
