Mr. York, age 78 years, passed away on March 9, 2015 at his home with his family at his side following a brief illness. He was born in Lansing on June 5, 1936 to the late Edward & Ann (Pavel) York. He moved to Pinconning as a teenager and later became a cheesemaker for Trummel Cheese Co., winning First place at the state fair. He married Shirley Morse on February 6, 1960, she survives him. They were blessed with two children a daughter Terri and a son Scott. Later they moved to Alger and he became a machinist, tool & die marker until his retirement in 2002. Pat loved flying and enjoyed his ultralight for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He, also, enjoyed traveling, going to the casino and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Shirley and his daughter Terri & Pat Ruegsegger, 4 grandchildren 7 their spouses; 5 great grandchildren and two more on the away; sister Sandy & Roy Scherzer, brother and sister in laws Jim & Jeanne Morse, Al & Connie Morse, Linda Garcia and Deb & Terry Conrad; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a step father, a son Scott, a sister and brother in law Connie & Fred Pugh, mother & father in law Albert & Florence (Burke) Morse, sister in law Carol Ricker and her son William; brothers in law Robert Morse and David Garcia.
Funeral Services will be held Friday 11 am from Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-STANDISH CHAPEL with Pastor Devin Chisolm presiding with burial in Alger Cemetery. Family will receive friends and family at the STANDISHH CHAPEL on Thursday from 1 to 8 pm and Friday 9 am until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the families wishes.
