Survivors are three sons, William Coons, John Coons, Frank Coons; two daughters, Margaret Kersey, SC and Ruth Cox; 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was held Thursday, February 6, 1992 at New Harmony Baptist Church. Burial was in Harrod Cemetery, near Austin.
