Allen Trousdale "Do Rite" Sullivan was born on December 16, 1927 in Gallatin, Tennessee, the son of Dr William Sullivan and Eleanor (Allen) Sullivan.

Raised in Gallatin, he attended Howard Elementary School, McCallie Military Academy and then joined the US Navy at the age of 17 and served in World War II as a Frog Man until 1945.

After the war he attended Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tennessee, the worked for Bunch Cadillac until he joined JC Bradford & Company where he spent almost 50 years of his working career. He most recently was employed by The Stephens Company and retired at 86 years old.

He was married about 1955 to Barbara Oman (1932-2007), and he led an active life, being one of the first hot-air balloon pilots as well as instructor in the US in the late 1960s and early 70s. He also loved motorcycles, was a licensed airplane pilot, a scuba diver, and and extensive traveler with his wife. For many years, he toured Vermont on motorcycles with many of his friends.

He was a member of Belle Meade Country Club, Saint George's Episcopal Church, and served on the board of Monroe Harding as well as on the board for The Soup Kitchen of Holy Name Catholic Church in Nashville. Allen was also a member of the Elks Club, Billings Farm in Vermont, the Cumberland Club, Nashville Symphony and was a founding member of the Escoffie Society.

Do Rite passed away peacefully on March 11, 2015 in Nashville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sister-in-law Merida (Oman) Chambers; brother Dr Albert Sullivan; and many nieces and nephews. Survivors include two married daughters; four grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law.

Funeral Services were held at Saint George's Episcopal Church. [Burial was in Saint Georges Episcopal Church Columbarium.]
