∼Two Rivers - Joan C. Funk, age 95, a resident of Wisteria Haus of Two Rivers, died Saturday evening, October 27, 2018, at Wisteria Haus.
Joan was born on August 11, 1923, in Two Rivers, a daughter of the late George and Julia (Taddy) Filliez. She attended St. Luke's Grade School and graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1941. On June 10, 1944, she married John Repenn at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1972. Joan married Wilbur Funk in 1990, he preceded her in death in 2003. Joan was employed at Sentry Foods for many years. She was a member of the Two Rivers Homemakers and the Two Rivers Senior Center. She enjoyed playing cards and traveling in her retirement years. Survivors include her son: Roy Repenn of Two Rivers; her daughter: Renee Repenn of Madison; her grandson: Marty Mraz of Sturgeon Bay; her daughter-in-law: Joyce Repenn of Two Rivers; several stepchildren and the Funk family. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by her son: Gene Repenn; her daughter: Lynn Mraz, her grandson: Mark Repenn; her brother: Julius (Marie) Filliez and her sister: Alice (Kenneth) Mauer.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Reynebeau with entombment in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.
