ALVINA "VENA" KARNITZ

Alvina Karnitz, age 88, formerly of 2411 Wilson St., Two Rivers, a eight-year resident of Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers, died Friday, April 25, 2003 at the home.

Funeral services will be held on April 29, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St Peter the Fisherman Parish — St. Luke Site. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William O'Brien with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Alvina was born on April 30, 1914 in Wabeno, Wis., daughter of the late Frank and Exilida Dupuis Duprey. On November 19, 1931 she married Herman A. Karnitz in Waukegan, Ill. Alvina worked at Hamilton Manufacturing for many years until her
retirement.

Survivors include her husband: Herman Karnitz, Two Rivers; three daughters and a son-in-law: Alice Gauthier, Two Rivers, Joan and James Kocian, Manitowoc, Sue Buchholz, Two Rivers; a son: Ronald Karnitz and special friend, Debbie, McFarland, Wis.; nine grandchildren: Mari Ellen (Al) Holzinger, Kay (Paul) Keller, Steve (Jeanne) Moore, Brenda (Mike) Schultz, Chris (Dan) Welch, Cher (Corey) Zeddies, Ronnie (Angie) Karnitz, Robin (Tim) Fochs, Scott (Anita) Buchholz; five step grandchildren: Dale (Becky) Kocian, Dennis Kocian, Dickie (Connie) Kocian, Sue (Tim) Kazar, Cindy Grebin; 15 great grandchildren: Amy Holzinger, Paul Jr. (Amy)Keller, Eric and Penny Keller, Nicholas, Laney and Thomas Moore III, Tory and Brandon Schultz, Elizabeth and Mike Welch, Max Zeddies, Dylan Karnitz, Thomas and Danielle Buchholz; eight step great grandchildren: Kyndra Wisnicky, Melinda Swanson, Adam Steidl, Shannon, Nichole, Chelsea and Chad Kocian, Adam Grebin; four great great grandchildren: Ashley Keller, Quintien Keller, Cameron and Cody Repinski.

Alvina was also preceded in death by an infant son: Joseph Karnitz; two grand-children: Cindy Gauthier and Ronald Joseph Karnitz; two great grandchildren: Mark Holzinger and Christopher Schultz; four sisters Anna Ebert, Genevieve Koehler, Ella Farr, Adela Stanzel; six brothers: Walter, Joseph, Alfred, Louis, Euclide, Isaac Duprey; and three sons-in-law: Leonard Gauthier, Thomas . Moore and Roland Buchholz.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2003 at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Two Rivers, where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. led by the Rev. William O'Brien to conclude the visitation. The visitation will continue on Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home from 9 until 10 a.m. when the procession will proceed to St. Peter the Fisherman Parish — St. Luke Site for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.

A special wife, mother, grandmother, great-Grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who's heart stopped beating and was greatly loved by all. She will be sadly missed by her family.
