CALEDONIA - Mrs. Kenneth (nee: Astrid K. Petersen) Horner, 86, went to be with her Lord at her home on Friday, August 1, 1997.

She was born in Racine on October 23, 1910, to Oswald and Anna Petersen and had resided in Racine County all of her life. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Horner on May 10, 1928. This last May, they celebrated their 69th Wedding Anniversary.

She was a longtime member of Taylor Avenue Church of the Nazarene and was past President of the Women's Missionary Society.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard (Joyce) Horner of Cody, Wyo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn (Edsal) Mattax of Racine and Kathryn (Charles) Hasselbring of Grand Rapids, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, Fritz Petersen of Racine; two sisters, Anne Smith of Kenosha and Olga (Andrew) Huhn of Racine; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Merieth Petersen of Racine, Clarence Goebel of Racine, Everett (Majel) Horner of Waterford, Alice Horner of Alabama, Miriam (Robert) Wilfong of North Carolina, Leone (Vernon) Nelson of Racine, and Grace (Beryl) Dillman of San Diego, Calif. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Astrid was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ole; and a sister, Katherine Goebel.

Funeral services will be held at Taylor Avenue Church of the Nazarene on Monday, August 4, 1997, at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be in West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a visitation at the Hanson Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 3 until 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Taylor Avenue Church of the Nazarene.

Astrid was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be missed by all.
