Genevieve J. Armstrong, 79, of Fremont died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at Bryan Lincoln General Hospital East in Lincoln.
Genevieve Nelson was born Sept. 4, 1923, in Pilger. She lived in Pilger until moving to Stanton in 1931. She was a graduate of Stanton High School. She moved to Omaha in 1943 and worked at Grant's Department Store in Omaha until 1946. She moved to Kimball in 1948 and lived there for one year until moving to Norfolk in 1949. She had been residing in Fremont since 1959.
She married Charles D. Armstrong on Sept. 7, 1946, in Hiawatha, Kan. He died July 1, 2001.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fremont.
Survivors include: two sons, Roger C. (and wife, Bonnie) Armstrong of Fremont and Mark L. Armstrong (and fiancee, Tammy Arthur) of Fremont; a daughter, Diane L. Armstrong (and special friend, Frank Peltz) of Linwood; a brother, Delbert (and wife, Virginia) Nelson of Clarkson; a half brother, Robert Reichow of Ogden, Utah; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Melanie Adams of First United Methodist Church in Fremont officiating. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. today and 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday, all at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.
