George Burton Lowers, 72 of Garvers Ferry, Allegheny Twp. Died at 5:25 pm yesterday (April 27,1962) at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.
Mr. Lowers was born July 25,1889 in Leechburg,a son of Daniel Colmer & Mary Amanda(Freeman) Lowers.He was an employee for 31 years at the Brackenridge Plant of the Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp,and at the time of his retirement in 1958 he was a brakeman in the transportation department. He was a member of the Allegheny Twp. United Presbyterian Church, Fire Co. No.1 in Allegheny Twp. Eagles Lodge No.1732 and Freeport Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving are his Widow, Mrs Goldie Franklin (Deutschel) Lowers, four sons, Robert Lincoln (Helen) Lowers, Val Phillip (Laura) Lowers, George Junior(Margaret) Lowers and Paul Lauchlin Lowers all of Allegheny Twp. Two daughters, Mrs. James (Monagene) Brubaeker of Allegheny Twp, Mrs. Jack (Beverly Ann) Bowser of Sarver, Two brothers, John of Freeport, James Edward of Allegheny Twp; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Mae (Harry)Lucas of Freeport; 19 grandchildren.

Besides his parents, George was Preceded in death by a son Daniel Burton Lowers in 1960, and a sister Mrs. Hazel Inez Lowers Townsend.

Friends are being received at Cherry funeral home, Freeport where services will be held at 2 pm. Monday. Rev.Wallace McGeech, pastor of Allegheny Twp. United Presbyterian Church will officiate. Interment will take place in Greenwood Memorial Park.
