HELEN L. (CURTIS) GRIM, age 76, of Galloway and formerly of Chesterville, passed away Tuesday evening, March 10, 2015, at the Morrow Manor Nursing Center.
She was born on January 21, 1939, to the late John A. and Margaret V. (Arthur) Curtis in Marengo, Ohio. Helen graduated from Chesterville High School in the class of 1957.
For several years Helen worked for Morning View Care Center and really enjoyed her time spent there. Helen’s main job in life though was taking care of her family. She loved raising her children and grandchildren.
Helen enjoyed sewing and quilting. She also enjoyed playing any and all cards games.
She will be dearly missed by her children: Lori (Ira Sargent) Grim of Galloway, Ohio, John Grim of Groveport, Ohio. Carol McAvoy of Mount Gilead, Robert (Amy) Grim of Chillicothe, Ohio, Ray Grim of Marion, and Susan (Wade) McAvoy of Cardington; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren with another on the way; three sisters: Esther Curtis-Hawk of Marengo, Barbara (Richard) Barnhart-Jordan of Shelby, and Margaret (Dale) Bowman of Burton, Ohio; an uncle, Bill Arthur; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Willard, Lloyd, Ivan, Martin, and Carl Curtis; and a sister, Doris Peters.
Her family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015, at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel, 67 N. Main Street, Mount Gilead. A funeral service will be held there Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Brian Mosher officiating. Burial will follow in Marengo Cemetery.
