Endries, Alois G.

Alois G. Endries, age 90, of St. Nazianz, passed away Tuesday morning, March 10, 2015 at Willow Park Place in New Holstein.

Al was born on December 22, 1924 in Manitowoc, son of the late John and Rose (Burkart) Endries. On May 5, 1951 he married Julianne Rollmann at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Kiel. She preceded him in death in December of 2005. Al was the owner and operator of Endries Trucking & Excavating for over 50 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, wood working and spending time with his family. Al was a member of the St. Nazianz Fire Department, Past Board of Directors of the Fire Department, a member and director of the St. Nazianz Growth, and a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army from November 21, 1945 until May 5, 1947.

Survivors include one son, David Endries and fiancé, Kay Mueller, St. Nazianz; three grandchildren: Jennifer (Alex) Rathsack, Valders; Kristine Endries and special friend, Dominic Nigrelli, Sheboygan; Jeremy (Tammy) Endries, St. Nazianz; three great grandchildren: Jase Rathsack, William and Brynn Endries; sisters and brothers-in-law: Sally (Delmar) Lettenberger, Woodale, IL; Joanne (John) Firkus, Kewaskum; brothers and sisters-in-law: James (Jerriann) Endries, Valders; Leo (Oki) Endries, CA; Mark Endries; International Falls, MN; Roger Endries, Elkhart Lake; Gary (Ruth) Schnell, Valders; brothers-in-law: Richard Lettenberger, Manitowoc; John Kumbalek, Manitowoc; George Woelfel, Chilton; sisters-in-law: Helen Schmitz, Chilton; Mildred (George) Hoefler, New Holstein; brother-in-law: Bob Biskobing, West Bend; and also Al's pet dog, Max. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was also preceded in death by a brother: Eugene Endries; daughter-in-law, Beverly Endries; sisters and brothers-in-law: Genrose Lettenberger, Anna Mae (Jim) Roseky, Stella (Herb) Boettcher, Carol Kumbalek; Florence Woelfel; brother-in-law: Robert Schmitz; sister-in-law: Germaine Biskobing, and step parents: Rosalinda and Norbert Schnell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Patrick Nelson, S.D.S. with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum. Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Nazianz American Legion Post #477.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Gregory Catholic Church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Al's name.
