He was born on April 13, 1933 in Forsyth County, NC to the late Doyle Dwight McMahan and Lanner Mashburn McMahan and had been a resident of High Point/ Trinity area most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean conflict. He worked as a meat cutter for many years, having worked last at Kroger, until his retirement. After retirement he continued to work part time at Wal-Mart and Trindale Foods. Doyle was a member of Trindale Baptist Church where he was a member of the Senior Adults, and he also was a member of Gideon’s International. He enjoyed fishing, reading, working in his yard and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. On August 6, 1952, he was married to Sarrah Wilde, she survives of the home.
He is also survived by his children, Steve McMahan and his wife Teresa of High Point, Sharon Johnson and her husband Jerry of King, Dwight McMahan and his wife Cindy, Larry McMahan and his wife Sandra, and Jon McMahan and his wife Lisa all of Thomasville, Donna LeBeau and her husband Rick of Trinity, his siblings; Elizabeth Haynes of Asheboro, Don McMahan and his wife Delores of High Point, Delores Hicks of SC, Jimmy McMahan and his wife Joyce of Sophia, Ron McMahan and his wife Kathy of Archdale, and Geraldine Jordan of Asheboro. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Doyle’s life will be Sunday, March 9th at 6:00 p.m. at Trindale Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Moore officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the home.
