STREATOR — Rosalie E. Adams, 93, of Streator, passed away Friday, March 13, at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, at St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church, Streator. Monsignor Philip Halfacre will officiate.There will be no visitation. Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Streator.
Born Jan. 31, 1922, in Leonore, she was the daughter of John and Helena (Broscheid) Schorn. She married Donald L. Adams on Feb. 12, 1949, in Leonore. He preceded her in death on Feb, 4, 1996.
She is survived by a daughter, Gail (Rich) Moritz, of Ancona; a son, Donald (Mara) Adams Jr., of Rock Island; grandchildren, Lynn (Troy) Rathbun, David (Chelsea) Adams and Marie Adams; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Luke Rathbun; and one sister, Alberta Brown, of Oregon, Ill.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Marie Schmitt and Irma Martin; and brothers, Ray, Carl and John Schorn.
She lived her lifetime in the Leonore and Streator area.
She worked as the cafeteria manager at St. Mary's Grade School in Streator for more than 30 years. She made all of her lunches from scratch and was even called on to cook for the Bishop when he was in town. She loved cooking for the children. She also enjoyed sewing and was an accomplished seamstress.
She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church. She was formerly a member of the Immaculate Conception Altar and Rosary Society.
