Dennis was a 1969 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School and attended computer programming school in Pittsburgh. He was employed as a supervisor, in the Food Service Department for Mount Nittany Medical Center. He was of the Methodist faith. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his fiancée, Sarah Keck, who survives at home; his children, Emery Cathcart, who survives at home, Ann Cathcart, of State College, Kathryn Cathcart Narber, of State College, Joseph Cathcart, of State College, and four grandchildren. He was previously married to Kathleen Cathcart, who survives in State College.
Dennis was preceded in death by one brother, Robert.
A public visitation will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2011, from 6-8 pm, at Wetzler Funeral Service Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, PA. The funeral service will be Thursday, December 8, 2011, at 11 am, at the funeral home, with Pastor Mitch Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Centre County Memorial Park, College Township.
