Samuel F. Walker was born in Summerset county, Penn., in the year 1832. Mr. Walker came to Iowa and has resided on the place he lived on 27 years. Mr. Walker united with the Dunkard church 46 years ago and was 69 years and 3 months old. Mr. Walker had by hard work and economy accumulated considerable property and was one of the heaviest tax payers in Colfax township and was a man that was well respected.
The funeral sermon was preached by Mose Deardorff of Yale, Ia., and was heard by a very large concourse of people. Mr. Walker leaves five children, two sons and three daughters and wife. Mr. Walker had been married twice. All of his children lived close by him except one daughter, who lives in South Dakota. Mr. Walker has one brother who lives in Des Moines.
