On Monday, April 5, at the Baptist parsonage in Newark, Rev. J. C. Brookins officiating, occurred the marriage of Miss Helena Burnett and Gilbert W. Darling both of this village.

Webster Native Succumbs at 72
A funeral service was held at the Tinklepaugh Funeral Home Monday at 2 p.m. for Gilbert W. Darling. Mr. Darling passed away on Thursday, July 28, 1949, after a long illness. Rev. John D. Rein officiated, and burial was in Webster Rural Cemetery.

The 72-year-old man, who was born in Webster and lived here all his life, was married to the former Helena Burnett. He was a member of the Webster Methodist Church. Mr. Darling had been employed for over 25 years by the Marion Canning Co., Marion, as a canning processor. He has worked for canning companies in Webster and Williamson.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Gilbert, and two daughters, Mrs. Helen Soles and Mrs. Ruth Arden, all of East Rochester, and a son, Woodrow of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Charles of Webster, and five grandchildren.
