OBITUARY :
ISAAC CARTER, one of the best known men in the town, and highly respected by everyone, died at his home on West High street on Monday morning after an extended illness aged about 74 years.
He was a veteran of the Civil War and janitor at the Court Home some years ago for a term of four years.
He leaves his wife, five sons and two daughters, I. W. Carter, Clinton Carter, Benjamin Carter, Oliver Carter, and Priscilla Carter, of Gettysburg, Mrs. Zora Only, of Baltimore; and Singleton Carter, with the American Expeditionary Forces in France.
The funeral was held from St. Paul's A. M. E. Zion Church, Washington St., and interment was made in the Colored Cemetery on Thursday.
