Irvin, son of Edwin and Hilma (Nixon) Peldo was born February 20, 1924, 3 miles east of Frederick, SD. Irvin attended country school and was confirmed at Savo Lutheran Church. He worked on the family farm and broke many horses to be used for farm work.
Irvin was united in marriage to Beverly (Blair) Niva on May 14, 1957 in Webster, SD. They made their home in the Frederick area. Irvin farmed for himself and for others too. In 1981 Irvin started work as grounds keeper at the Ellendale Golf Course. He retired in 1996 to help care for his wife.
Irvin loved to play baseball, he especially enjoyed it when the Frederick team made it to many of the playoffs. He also enjoyed aerial hunting, when it was legal.
Survivors include five children, Pamela Catlette, Rick Niva, Dave Peldo, Peggy Jenkins, Ed Peldo; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Beverly (5-26-2008), two sons, Ronald and Timothy Niva, daughter-in-law, Peggy Niva, and one son-in-law, Brian Catlette
