Mrs. Hillgartner was born October 27, 1937 in Williams, Iowa, the daughter of Morris Mandeville and Margaret Irene Doyle Wood. On February 27, 1954 in Burlington, she married Raymond W. Hillgartner. He died June 29, 2012.
She had worked for IRC in Burlington, ran the Country Cousins Café in Lockridge, and retired from Motorola in Mt. Pleasant. She was of the Catholic faith and attended school in Danville. Mrs. Hillgartner was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed her family, grandchildren, cocker spaniels, lilacs, a good cup of coffee, fishing, camping, and being outdoors, playing cards, games and puzzles. She also sold Home Interiors. She was an amazing cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Morris "Mickey" Wood, one sister Pamela Noe, her step-father Ralph Acedo, and three nephews.
