Darlene J. Salta, age 83, of 631 South 30th Street, Manitowoc, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.

Darlene was born on August 22, 1931 in Manitowoc daughter of the late Roland and Ruby (Teteak) Keune. She attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated with the class of 1949 from Lincoln High School. Darlene worked at Hamilton’s in Two Rivers and then retired from Mirro Aluminum in 2001. She was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ. Darlene enjoyed walking, swimming, crocheting, dancing, feeding the birds, gardening and bus trips to the casinos.

Survivors include 3 children: Debra Salta and her partner: Timothy Pautsch, Appleton; Rick Salta, Manitowoc; Jaimie (Kristin) Salta, Two Rivers; 7 grandchildren: Jason Riha and his fianceé: Nancy Couser; Kimberly (Ben) Katz; Kari Haelfrisch and special friend: Tim Pavelack; Kristin Rezachek; Heather Brandl; Mackenzie Salta and special friend: Aaron Reilly; Spencer Salta; 3 great grandchildren: Emily; Ethan and Evan; one sister: Donna Brefczynski, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law: Bob (Marilyn) Salta, Two Rivers; Jean Keune, Manitowoc; Dorothy Nichols, Two Rivers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers: Ronald; Charles and Carlyle; 3 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law: Al Brefczynski; Bob Nichols; Edward (Magie) Salta; Violet Robinson; father of her children: Roman Salta.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2015 at First Reformed United Church of Christ, 3613 Waldo Boulevard. The Rev. Christopher Ross will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 5:30 p.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
