David was born on January 15, 1966 in Manitowoc son of the late Larry and Delores (Brandes) Peik. David graduated with the class of 1985 from Reedsville High School. He worked as a Machinist until his retirement. He was a past member of the Reedsville Fire Department. David loved racing, and was a crew chief, mechanic for numerous race teams in the local area. He especially had a passion for 360 and 410 sprint cars. David will always be remembered for building the EWSC two seat sprint car with his good friend Andy.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters: Carla (Rick) Wasmer, St. Nazianz; Terry (Brenda) Peik, Reedsville; Danny Peik, Brillion; Kim (Dave) Hintz, Potter; Ronny Peik, Texas, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Larry and Delores Peik.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church, 181 Main Street, Potter. The Rev. Dr. Marc Axelrod will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory of Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
