Lori Dawn Taylor, 40, of Texico, died Sunday, May 21, 2006, at her home.

She was born Feb. 1, 1966, in Clovis to Tom and Stephanie Cox. She married Leonard F. Taylor on Feb. 4, 1988.

Family members said she was a loving wife, mother, grand-mother, sister and aunt. Her life revolved around her husband, children and grandchildren, according to her family.

She enjoyed cooking and spoiling her grandchildren, her family said, and she was always there with a loving hand or a listening ear.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Shawn Taylor of Texico; a daughter, Ashley Smith (and husband, Eric) of Lubbock; seven grandchildren, Austin Taylor, Lacey and Hayden Harless and Blake and Shelbee Fitzgerald, all of Portales, and Lexie and Kadynce Smith of Lubbock; two brothers, Blaine Cox (Janet) of Portales and Michael Cox of Texico; two sisters, Carla Dixon of Clovis and Dina Fitzgerald (Keith) of Portales; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Lewis Foster, Justin and Wesley Hellums, Steven, Ryan, T.J., Crouche and Justin Minshew.

Brother Norman Retherford will officiate services.

Burial will be at Texico Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home.
