Jacob Hougham was born in Henry County Indiana October 19, 1821. Was married to Mary E. Williamson Sept. 4, 1859, moved to Guthrie County same year and from there to Dallas County in 1865, to the home where he spent the balance of his life. Eleven children were born to him, of whom 8 are now living, three having preceded him in death. His wife died Sept. 10, 1874. Mr. Hougham was stricken with paralysis in Jan. 1889, since which time he has been confined to his bed.
