PROVIDENCE --- George E. Albro, 70, of Vermont Avenue, a delivery driver for library services for the state for 10 years before retiring in 1980, died Sunday at St. Joseph Hospital, North Providence. He was the husband of Esther E. (Tubman) Albro.

Born in Cranston, a son of the late Charles Louis and Lula M. (Spencer) Albro, he lived in Providence for the past three years. He previously resided in Warwick, Cranston and Tiverton.

He previously owned George's Wholesale Gasoline Service Station on Post Road, Warwick.

Mr. Albro was an ordained Pentecostal minister and devoted many years in the hospital and nursing ministry.

Besides his wife he leaves four sons, Duane E. Albro of Providence and Steven S. Albro of Cranston, Glenn P. Albro of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, and George S. Albro of Tiverton; a daughter, Nancy L. Makris of Sandy Spring, Md.; a brother, G.N. Branch of Foster; a sister, Doris M. Prokurat of Providence, and eight grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 812 Greenwich Ave., Route 5, Warwick. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
