WHITAKER, MR. EDWARD MARSHALL
Funeral services for Mr. Edward Marshall Whitaker, 80, 1341 Vassar Street, Orlando, Florida, who died Monday, October 23, will be heldWednesday, October 25 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Episcopal Church,Westmoreland Drive, Orlando, with Father F. Vernon Quigley officiating,assisted by Father Roy Green. Masonic services will be held at graveside, Woodlawn Memorial Park. Born in White River Junction,Vermont, raised in New Hampshire; finished education at Burdett College,Boston, Mass. After five years' Government Service, Washington, D. C. he joined staff of The Federal Land Bank of Springfield, Mass. (Farm CreditAdministration) in 1921, becoming Assistant Treasurer and ManagerInsurance Dept. He gained a wide reputation in Agricultural andInsurance circles throughout the Northeast for his insurance work,lectures, trade articles and manuals for his Farm Credit District on FarmFire Protection. He retired in 1952 moving that year to Orlando. Later he served three years in the office of Contractor Wellborn Phillips, at Azelea Park. He was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Orlando; was a direct tenth generation descendant of John Alden and Priscilla Mullen. He was a Past Master of Samuel Osgood Lodge of Masons, A.F.&A.M.Springfield, Mass.; a member of the York Rite Bodies of Orlando and a charter member of Bahia Shrine Temple. He is survived by his wife:Ethel; daughter, Mrs. Emily Ann Russell; four grandchildren, Mrs. PamelaAnn Mason of Chicago, Ill.; Melissa Jane Russell of Los Angeles, Calif.,David and Gilbert Russell of Orlando; and a great grandson, Geoffrey Mason, Chicago, Ill. Cox-Parker Funeral Home, Winter Park.
