Kenneth Howard Prahl, 90, died peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2015 at his daughter, Judy's residence in Manitowoc. He was a former Cedar Lake (Kiel) resident. Kenneth was born on October 6, 1924 at home in rural Kiel, son of the late Howard and Hilma (Voland) Prahl. He was a 1942 graduate of Kiel High School. On October 21, 1944 he married Betty Ann Wriedt. Betty preceded him in death on February 3, 2014. He farmed in Schleswig township and also worked at Tecumseh Products for over 30 years, retiring in 1985. Kenneth was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel, where he was baptized and married. He loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed playing sheepshead and other card games, slot machines, taking extended trips to casinos, going to Louis Corners, fishing, hunting and was an avid Packer fan. Kenneth will be dearly missed by his family Survivors include his seven sons and two daughters; Denny (Sharon), Gary, Terry (Sherry), Sue (Dennis) Heimermann, Judy (Jim) Vnuk, Howie, Kenny (Julie), Wayne (Dawn) and Mark. He is further survived by twenty one grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one sister, Marilyn Griffith, four sisters-in-law, Delores, Lola, Annie and Sharon Wriedt, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends Kenneth was preceded in death by two daughters-in-law, Sandy & Peggy Prahl, one grand daughter-in-law, Carleen Prahl, great granddaughter, Mariah, six brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Wally (Lucy), William, John, Jerry and Jack Wriedt and Jerry Griffith. Funeral services for Kenneth will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 28, 2015 at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel with Rev., Judine Duerwaechter officiating. Burial will take place in Schleswig Cemetery, Town of Schleswig (Rockville). Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
