Charles R. Reece, 84, of Defiance, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at St. Clair Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. He had lived with his daughter in Morehead, Ky., for the past four years.
He was born in Dobson, North Carolina, on November 19, 1927, the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Watson) Reece.
Charles married Eva A. Callicoat on April 16, 1960, and she died May 1, 2006. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a life member of DAV 36 and a life member of VFW Post 3360. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic at Jeffers Crane Service, retiring in 1991, and was a member of Local 18.
