Obituary of Daniel Webster White, Sr.--MACON CHRONICLE-HERALD, June 4, 1966

Daniel Webster White, Sr., son of William Campbell White, Sr. and Sallie Grace Gresham White, was born October 4, 1893, on a farm near Anabel, Missouri. He resided at this homestead during his entire lifetime. Mr. White thoroughly enjoyed his farming occupation, especially the developing and improving of fine livestock.

On November 28, 1917, Webster White was united in marriage with Elsie Mae Winkler of Millard, Missouri, who survives. To this union were born five children: a son, Webster White, Jr., of Anabel, Missouri; and four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Virginia) Roemer of rural Macon; Mrs. Kenneth (Vivian) Wilder of Anaheim, California; Mrs. Edward (Mary Jean) Lewy of Mercer Island, Washington; and, Mrs. Ted (Wilma Grace) Burkhart of Sunnymead, California.

In addition to his wife and children, survivors include one brother, William C. White of Macon; two sisters, Dr. Mollie G. White and Miss Marie G. White of macon; several nieces and nephews; and, fourteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Noble and Wiley, and four sisters, May, Maud, Orie and Katie, and by one grandson, Lance Leigh Roemer.

A man of Character, Mr. White believed in and employed the Golden Rule, and based all of his life's transactions on a foundation of integrity. He will be sadly missed by his family and a host of friends.

Following an illness of about a month's duration, Mr. White succumbed May 31, at the Samaritan Hospital. The body lay in repose at the Hutton Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted at the Bethel Christian Church north of Anabel on Thursday, June 2, at 2 P.M. by the Reverend Dannie Martin of Carmi, Illinois, a former pastor of the church. Interment was in the nearby cemetery.
