Frances E. (Grimshaw) Taylor, 94, of Fall River and formerly of New Bedford passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Highlander Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Fall River after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Earl J. “Red” Taylor.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Robert and Ethel (Cuddy) Grimshaw, she lived in the city before moving to Fall River in 2005. She graduated from New Bedford High School in 1935 and went on to work at the Berkshire Hathaway, Wamsutta Mill and Hemingway Transport all as a data processor. She also worked at Haviland Chocolates.

Mrs. Taylor was affiliated with the Peoples Gospel Hour in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She was an avid reader and loved keeping up with current events and history.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Frances Rapoza and her husband Daniel of Swansea and Carol Elizabeth Taylor of Fall River.

Calling hours will be Monday from 4-7 PM in the Donaghy Funeral Home, 465 County Street, New Bedford. Her funeral service will be Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home followed by interment in Acushnet Cemetery.
