Obituary
In the University Hospital, Kansas City, after a long and severe illness
which terminated in pneumonia, on the afternoon of May 29, there passed to
the land of eternal sunshine the spirit of Mr. John F. Haase--a beautiful
soul, ripened in the sunshine of God's love.
Mr. Haase was born on the family farm in Mount Hulda, near Cole Camp on December 13, 1884, and lived all his
life in this vicinity. On March 5, 1908, he was married to Miss Rachel
Aulgar. Their union was a happy one. Both were active members of the
Methodist, South. Two children were born to them, Anna Marguerite 12 and Irene Ethel 7
years old at the time of the father's death. Besides his loving wife and
children, Mr. Haase is survived by his mother and five brothers--Claus,
Herman, Dietrich, Ernest and Willie Haase.
By his gentle ways, his unselfish thought of others and his kind judgements,
he was a constant blessing to all around him, his benign influence extending
beyond the family circle. The unassuming beauty of his quiet life will long
live in the hearts of all who were priviliged to claim his friendship, and
the steady glow of his faith will be a perpetual benediction of peace to all
who mourn his going.
"For life is ever lord of death
And love can never lose her own."
Funeral services were held in Union Church and the body laid to rest in
Union Cemetery, Rev. de la Porte officiating.
