Don was raised on his parents ranch at Cheslatta- went to school at Ootsa Lake, B.C. He and Gwenneth Jessie Ray were married 2 Sept. 1954 at United Church Manse in Burns Lake, B.C. They lived most of their married life in Fort St.James, B.C. where they raised their three daughters. Don worked in a sawmill, drove his own logging truck; but his love was raising and training his quarter horses.
His ashes were scattered over his favorite mountain by family in a helicopter piloted by his grandson.
