Thelma Faye Aldridge, 95, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006 at her home.
Born Sept. 14, 1911, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Ernest and Ida Mae Belle Engle. She married Leroy Aldridge on Sept. 22, 1928, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1992.
Survivors include three sons, Raye Aldridge of Shelbyville, Laurel Clifton Aldridge of Germany and Henry Aldridge of Indianapolis; two daughters. Ida (husband, Roy) Cox of St. Paul and Kaye Goodwin of Greenfield; one sister, Rosie Sipes of Shelbyville; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 23 grea-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Dorothy Marie Allen.
Mrs. Aldridge had been employed at L&Z Garment Factory. She was a member of First Baptist Church and former longtime member of Lewis Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Aldridge had enjoyed working at the Westport Baptist Church Camp for several years.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery in Shelby County.
