Dora Myra Monroe, 86, Shelbyville, died Wednesday at Waldron Health Care Center.
Mrs. Monroe was born December 19, 1910 in Greenup, Illinois, to John Preston and Flora Belle (Shipp) Jones. She was married October 21, 1927, to McKinley (Mack) Monroe, who died March 8, 1980.
Mrs. Monroe was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Shelby county.
Survivors include two sons, Joe W. Monroe, Shelbyville, and Everett N. Monroe, Flat Rock; a daughter, Terry L. (Monroe) Gumm, Columbus; a brother, Orval Jones; St. Paul; sister Naomi Trietsch, Dunedin, Florida; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and three sisters.
Services will be Saturday at Norman Funeral Home, Hope, with the Rev. Cliff Bunch officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery, Shelby County.
